EASI

Empowerment Approaches and Social Inclusion
During the years 2010-2012, Basta together with Dialogues, France and Diagrama Foundation, UK, formed the partnership EASI, Empowerment Approaches and Social Inclusion. The project was funded through the European program Grundtvig Partnership. The overall aim of the EASI-project was to improve our working methods for the benefit of the target group. The project was based around the exchange of good practice and the development of new methods.
.
Dialogues in France, is an association working with people in disadvantaged areas. Dialogues runs a food store for people with low incomes, which is supported by social workers. The food store also functions as a social enterprise giving opportunities for unemployed people to receive training and acquire work experience.
.
Diagrama Foundation in the UK is a not-for-profit organisation, working to promote the development of programs, centres, and research dedicated to the prevention, treatment and integration of young people at risk. During the two years we exchanged good practice and developed new ideas around the themes of:

  • Social inclusion of disadvantaged groups
  • Offering more and better opportunities for the target group
  • Knowledge as a tool for inclusion
  • Social enterprising and entrepreneurship

One important outcome of the project was that Diagrama now has started a transfer of innovation of the Basta model into a UK context.
